Hi! Welcome to Art for Awakening. I’m glad you’re here :)
I’m Nicole Corbett. I’m an artist, entrepreneur, creative director and musician. I live on a two acre “art farm” called Summerstone, in East Hampton, NY with my husband and our two dogs. It’s also home to my studio where I make art everyday and the hub for my work as a creative director.
From my desk here in my studio, looking out at the apple tree, I’ll be sharing stories about the creative journey and how its helped me grow, heal, and awaken. Why? Because it can be a wild, lonely ride and I can’t be the only one trying to make sense of it. When I’m able to share the ups and downs of a creative life, I’m able to make meaning out of it for myself and for those of you out there who can relate to some of the things I might be going through.
The best way I know how to do that is by telling stories and sharing my own journey. In this newsletter, I’m taking you with me as I share the stories behind the art making process, and try to answer the big questions about living a creative life including:
What does it actually look like, practically, on a daily basis, to be an artist?
How can art help us awaken and heal?
What role does spirituality play in the creative process?
How does life influence art and vice versa?
How do emotions and memories become art?
My goal for these stories is to demystify the creative process, bring you closer to your own source of creativity, and inspire you to look within.
